Cape Cod, An Ideal Place For Fun

Cape Cod is four of the most popular places in the US. People travel to this place to seek relief from the hot summer they are experiencing. It is also four of the best spots for fun activities & romantic get-aways.

Cape Cod is a peninsula located in the state of Massachusetts. It is known as The Cape for most of the New Englanders. Originally, the Cape was connected to the mainland Massachusetts. It became an island when the Cape Canal was opened in 1914.

There's four bridges where vehicles can cross on to the Cape. These bridges are: (1) Sagamore Bridge (2) Bourne Bridge & (3) Cape Cod Canal Railroad Bridge.

Cape Cod has three portions. The section closest to the mainland is called the Upper Cape. This includes towns like Bourne, Sandwich, Falmouth & Mashpee.

The Upper Cape is known for its romantic ambiance & excellent research facilities.

The Mid-Cape portion includes towns such as Barnstable, Yarmouth & Dennis.

Lots of stunning beaches are found in this area. It is lovely for wind surfing. The Mid-Cape portion of Cape Cod is the center of the region's commerce & industry.

The narrower portion of the Cape is the Lower Cape. It bends towards the north. You can find here the stunning towns of Harwich, Brewster, Chatham & Orleans.

The Outer Cape is home to Eastham, Truro, Wellfleet & Provincetown.

The Cape Cod National Seashore is also located in this portion. This park is home to a number of the most famous beaches in the US. The highest elevation on Cape Cod is located at the top of Pine Hill. It's 306 feet.

Cape Cod has moderate marine climate. Its temperature is usually few degrees cooler in the summer & few degrees warmer in the winter. This is due to the influence of the Atlantic Ocean.

Cape Cod is notorious for its delayed spring season & is also famed for its exceptionally mild fall season. This period of the year is called Indian Summer.

Another type of transportation visitors can use is the ferry services. These ferries operate from Boston to Provincetown. Within Cape Cod, bicycle is another type of transportation running through the Cape Cod Rail Trail & Shining Se Bikeway. The Cape Cod Central operates a passenger train services that is mainly for tourists. Taxis are also operating around the area.

Cape Cod has different types of transportation. You can access Cape Cod through commercial air services operating out of Barnstable Municipal Airport & Provincetown Municipal Airport. There's buses coming in & out of the area transporting passengers from Boston to Cape Cod & vice-versa.

The 27 public golf courses & 15 private courses make the place a lovely venue for golf enthusiasts. Another exciting activity to do in Cape Cod is watching whales. People go to Provincetown, where the National Marine Sanctuary is located, to see different whales.

Tourism is four of the main industries here. It's 60 public beaches. The Cape Cod National Seashore has 40 miles of sandy beach. It also has lots of running paths. The place is also home for a lot of outdoor activities. These include boating, kayaking,beach running, biking & fishing.

Sports is very much alive in Cape Cod. As a matter of fact, it's its own baseball league known as Cape Cod Baseball League. The Fallmouth Road Race held every third Saturday of August & draws up to 10,000 participants also show that the place is ideal for sports.
